The South African heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) market is in the growth development phase. The market is immature when compared with those of its European and North American counterparts, however, it continues to grow at a steady rate. Some of the key factors contributing to the market growth are the increasing concerns about the financial and environmental implications of energy consumption and the growing emphasis on energy efficiency. HVAC systems account for between 10.0 per cent to 40.0 per cent of the total energy consumed within the commercial, industrial and residential buildings in most countries across the globe
